Mama Bruno’s Spaghetti with Spicy Red Sauce & Clams

May 26, 2007

Red is Better than White,
A very long time a go a friend of mine made Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce. A simple dish comprised of heavy cream, clams, heated up – tossed with spaghetti. A San Francisco favorite I was told. San Francisco is anything but bland, but believe me my friends this White Clam [...]

The Wrap Up
If you are ever in the position of having a frig load of beef brisket on hand: Just Wrap It Up. As you know from a few postings ago, I made my first brisket. That, by the way, turned out way better on the first try than any dish should.
As tasty as the [...]

“Oktoberfest. More on that later”

May 24, 2007

It was the beer talking,…
A post or two or three ago I mentioned that a few workmates, while we were sitting at the Bell, were hitting me up to be the 07′ O’Fest guide. Since then the peer pressure has waned, and I’ve come to my senses. There is no doubt that I love Munich, enjoy any [...]

Beef Brisket – The Conclusion

May 22, 2007

Brisket doesn’t get better than this!
In conclusion, for my first try, the brisket turned out fabulous, tasty, juicy and delicious. The marinade did its job leaving behind an orangey-teriyaki flavor. It also did a fine job of tenderizing the meat. For such a short cooking time it was amazing how tender the meat was.

Correction!

Hotter Than I Thought~

Spicy Olive Oil and Vinegar

May 19, 2007

How To Make it,…
Ages and ages ago, can’t remember when, a bottle of peppers happily submerged in olive oil met my acquaintance. Another time, my brother-in-law shared a homemade jar of tightly packed hot cherry peppers submerged in olive oil with garlic and herbs. The peppers seemed well preserved and lacking in any sign of [...]

Finally – something about food!
For the opposite sex – opposite as compared to me – impulsive purchases means shoes. For other males, it is tools, firearms, fishing polls, or beer. For me it is food and kitchen widgets. This afternoon I fell victim to a food impulse. Just could not help myself. While shopping I [...]

Just Something for You to Read until I get back into the Kitchen
Working the night shift hurts. Everytime I Work the four in a row evening shifts, it is like living in a Jet lag fog. My hat is off to you all long haul airline workers. Yesterday morning I got off work, took a nap, [...]

History 3160 – Medieval Yorkshire

May 16, 2007

A Struggle of a Paper.
Just got off a mid and thought I would post an easy entry: My Term Paper.  This was without a doubt the least enjoyable paper I had to write. This was mostly due to the dry and poorly written textbook (Sheeran’s ‘Medieval Yorkshire Towns – People, Buildings and Spaces) that the [...]
